Debra Lynn Lucas

Debra Lynn Lucas of Dameron, WV, passed away very peacefully on November 5th, 2025 after a short illness surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband James E. Lucas, a daughter Angela L. Lucas, a son Jonathan W. Lucas, her parents Edward and Arizona Murdock, and father and mother-in-law James and Naoma Lucas. Those left to cherish their memories of her are her two sons James E. Lucas II (Rebecca), Paul E. Lucas (Shenola), her four grandchildren Paul, Jacob, Nathanael, and Taylor.  Her 3 brothers and 5 sisters, Janette Overby (Tim), Kenneth Murdock (Debbie), Teresa, Carol Dickens (Ricky), Donna Daniel (Rocky), Matthew Murdock (Deede), Ronnie Murdock (Christy), Michelle Loving (Steve).  And many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and others. Debbie was a believer in the cross, tomb, and resurrection work of the Lord Jesus Christ and trusted Him fully as she sought His peace and comfort in her final days.  She was a faithful member of Bolt Fundamental Baptist Church in Bolt, WV, and later became her late husband Jim's faithful helper in his ministry as pastor to the same church for 29 years.  Debbie was born to be a mother as she was the oldest of 9 and a help in raising her siblings and later on her husband Jim's siblings and any other person who needed her to step into their life and be their mother.  She was her husband's wife, and her two sons' mommy later becoming mom but never mother as they got to cherish the most intimate parts of her, witnessing her sacrifice as her true guidance toward them flowed from her Savior and the one she trusted with all things. Services will be Sunday, November 9th, 2025, at Bolt Fundamental Baptist Church, Fairview School Rd., Bolt, WV. Family - !2:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. General Visitation - 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Service - 2:00 p.m. - Directed by her sons Jamie and Paul. Interment will follow in the Rorrer Cemetery Dameron. Special thanks to caregivers, sisters, Teresa and Carol; a friend, Sandy; daughters-in-law, Becky and Shenola; neighbor, Amy Adkins and others.
